Results of The Golftwo4one Competition at Miraflores Golf. A great day was had by all on a vast improving Miraflores Golf Course. The new greens played very well and all could see the hard work being carried out on the course. Thank you to our Sponsors the Speed Financial Solutions, the Costa del Sol golf News and Megamobile and well done to the winners Paul Richmond, Alan Flockett, Alun Jeans and Tommy Lee Jones who scored an incredible Texas Scramble score of 55.6 with 11 birdies — at Miraflores Golf Club.

Alun Jeans won nearest the pin on the 15th hole over the water and Kvein Bexley win nearest the pin on the new 13th hole, both won putters given by the Golf Factory in La Noria Golf.
Many thanks to to the Miraflores staff, the day was very well organised, thanks to Uli for the tapas and beers after the players had finished

10 year old Mikkel Antonson scored a massive 42pts to win the recent Golf Two4one competition at the prestigious Almenara golf Course in Sotogrande. Mikkel who plays off a handicap of  22 is from the Drobak golf Club in Norway, he outplayed a large field of quality golfers to lift the cup and was 6pts clear of second place Graham McDonald who was only 5 over par and scored an impressive 36pts. Brenden Whelen was in third place with a very respectable 34pts.

Almenara Pinos and Lagos was in very good condition, the greens lightening fast and on a very cold windy day in difficult conditions it favoured the steady player rather than the big hitter.

Jim McGowen won the nearest the pin prize with Chris Day winning the nearest the pin in two shots.

The presentation took place at the Albayt Resort in Estepona where Tapas and drinks were served, many thanks to Melanie from the Albayt and to all the staff there. The next competition will be held at Miraflores golf Course on Sunday 25th March.

Over 1500 euros were raised at the recent Golf Day at La Cala Golf Resort in aid of Cudeca sponsored my Megamobile and the Costa del Sol Golf News and Golftwo4one. Thank you to Ana Nyblom and Gary Ford who helped make the day a great success and all who contributed to prizes, Golf City, the Golf Factory, Jane Dazzle who kindly donated some of her beautiful jewelry.

Winners on the day were the The Kelleher Family from Ireland, closely followed by the team from Sunshine, many other prizes were given for nearest the pins and longest drive including a raffle where almost everyone went away with a prize.

Next Two4one golf day will be held at Almenara Golf Resort on the 23rd February. It will be a shotgun start at 09h30, only 55 euros inc. buggy, prizes, tapas and drinks at the prize giving. Golf Two4one members will receive a further 10 euros discount making it only 45 euros to play this great course.

Almenara Golf Course Info:

The complex is situated on the upper part of the Golden Triangle  of the Sotogrande estate and near the the courses of Valdarrama and San Roque.

The 27 hole Dave Thomas designed Almenara Golf course, immaculately presented opened in 1999 with 18holes and in 2001 opened an additional 9 holes.The course consists of three nine hole loops,the first nine holes are known as Los Pinos y Los Alcornoques which wind through wooded areas of cork oak and wild pine.

The 7th hole has been described in Golf Magazineas the most beautiful in the World. The second 9 holes, known as Los Alcornoques y Los Lagos, starts high and cuts down to the impressive central lakes with a more open setting, and the third 9 holes, Los Lagos y Los Pinos rise up again towards the 18th green and Clubhouse which is part of the bungalow arrangement hotel with central reception, bar and restaurant. &it is well worth playing any two of the three nines that are availbale to play if you are in the area.

The courses are characterised by wooden terrain of pine trees and cork oaks with water creating all your problems on the Lagos part of the course.
The Almenara golf course is also home to the Almenara School of Excellencewith all modern amenities for golf practice.

The school has a capacity of 90 players, 3 normal size practice holes, approach and putting areas and a swing video analysis.

This is one of the friendliest course on the costa del sol, it has a great history with lots of members, so there is always a great buzz about the place. The layout of the course through this beautiful scenery provides an enjoyable test of golf which is also equally fair, challenging and rewarding for golfers of all abilities.

El Paraiso presents generous easy walking fairways set amongst palms and pines, oleanders and olives with meandering streams and two magnificent lakes, so a buggy is not really needed.

El Chaparral Golf Club was the venue for our August Texas Scramble event. Five teams carded -9 out of the 20 teams that entered so it was all about hcp. Winners with a score of 57.4 were the members of Miraflores Golf, Paul, Timo, Bob & Alan, followed closely by The Golf factory team on 58. The Sunshine Golf team on 57.8 were a very respectable 3rd. Special mention to the Sierra Park team who also carded 57.8 but were narrowly edged out on count back.

Los Flamingos Golf Club results
It was a family affair at Los Flamingos Golf club this Saturday when 14yr old Victoria Harrison took the honors with her Uncle Jackie with a superb first place and winning score of 49pts in the Golf Two4one pairs better ball event hosted by the Golf News and sponsored by Megamobile. Second place was her dad Walter and his 12 yr old son Lewis who scored 46pts. Walter was in fact just one over for his round on a very hot summer Marbella day, playing off his hcp of 5.

Great day at La Cala golf club yesterday of 80 players took part in the Texas Scramble won by the Sierra park team on 55.8 well done to them.
